Several trips while spending a year in Uganda 2008/2009 and again in 2010 by Birgitte Folmann and family:

Herbert Tumusiime has on several occasions been our guide when we were living in Uganda. In his company, my husband and I together with our 3 children always felt safe and well informed. Thanks to Herbert’s commitment, contacts and great knowledge of Uganda, trips in Uganda were never a problem.

However, Herbert is not only a genuine tour guide; he is also a fabulous storyteller. I will never forget those restful end-of-the-day sessions when light faded and we were gathered around a meal or having a drink while Herbert lively gesticulating told us enchanted stories from the bush. About elephants crossing the Nile with only the trunk visible; lions sneaking in the grass near a tented camp; hyenas sniffing tourists in their face while they were sleeping, and lots of other fantastic tales of the extraordinary wild life in the bush we were so eager to experience in the next days.

We strongly recommend you to experience Uganda – but be careful. It is addictive!

Two short trips in August 2010 by Marita Saile and family:

„Dear Herbert,

I want to take the opportunity to express again my gratitude for the interesting days in Kampala and in the national parks. A better guideance through the contrasts of the ugandan capital I could not have imagined.

With great pleasure I also like to think about the two safaris we did together. I cannot decide what has been more impressive, the Murchison Falls National Park or the Kidepo Valley National Park. The farseeing planning and - considering the lacking quality of the roads - the control of the car with remarkably superior ease impressed me a lot. It  was also great, to receive competent answers to questions about animals and birds and that each of our wishes were being fulfilled as far as possible. Should I come again to Uganda and could make another safari, there is no question who I would choose. I hope, that many other „Muzungus“ can have the pleasure to do a safari with you. I can fully recommend it to every one.

A two-week trip in January 2011 by Claudia and Klaus Grothe:

„In the past years we did several trips all over the world, including to Brasil, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua and Guatemala, but the 14 days we spent with Herbert has been the most beautiful trip we have ever done. This was not only due to the impressive wild animals of Uganda, but as well to the very friendly and competent tour guidance of Herbert, who had our trip well planned and never let any uncertainty arise. We felt safe and well guided. Also we learned something about the life and culture in Uganda from Herbert. We already knew about the friendliness and politeness of the Ugandan people from our previous trips to Uganda, but Herbert could reinforce our experience.

The wild animal life was unique and the specialty is that on a rather small area one can experience all types of african nature and landscape: savannah and its grasslands, rivers and lakes with its own wild life up to the mountains and the jungle like rainforests with the highlight of the chimpanzee (Kibale) and mountain gorilla (Bwindi) trekking: a truly unique experience!

We hope that everyone travelling to Uganda can enjoy this kind of experience as well as that Herbert can show the „pearl of Africa“ to many more visitors to come. We shall also return!“

A 5-day-trip in July 2011 by Marianne and Peter:
